Francisco Boshell is an international energy expert with 20+ years of experience advancing the transition to sustainable energy. His work spans policy advisory, technology innovation, and decarbonising industry and transport through renewable solutions. He leads quality control and standardisation programs that enable the deployment of clean technologies and has shaped strategies to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy systems. A prolific contributor, he has co-authored reports on energy transition.
Career highlights include serving as Head of Innovation and End-Use Applications at IRENA; developing technical standards to quantify GHG reductions in CDM projects and supporting UNFCCC negotiations; and consulting on renewable energy and efficiency projects at DNV GL (formerly KEMA). He holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology (TU/e) and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Universidad de los Andes.
